The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (Urdu: غلام اسحاق خان انسٹیٹیوٹ; commonly referred as GIKI) is a private research university located in Topi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. The institute has a 400-acre (1.6 km2) campus that is located in the vicinity of Swabi District.
It was founded by the former President of Pakistan, Ghulam Ishaq Khan, in 1993. Since its establishment, the institute has consistently attracted the country’s most influential scientists such as Abdul Qadeer Khan, Asghar Qadir, and Shaukat Hameed Khan, who played a role in elevating the institute as one of world’s finest science and engineering college. REQUISITE QULAIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE OF THE ABOVE POSITIONS
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
PhD in the relevant discipline from a recognized university by HEC in consultation with PEC with five (5) years post PhD experience as Assistant Professor and 10 research publications with at-least 4 in the last 5 years, in impact factor journals. Two years industrial experience in an organization of international repute will be considered equivalent to one year of teaching and research experience in the university. The applicant should have demonstrated the capability to conduct Independent and original research.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:
PhD in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution, preferably with some publications in refereed journals of international repute. The applicant should have demonstrated the capability to conduct independent and original research.
LECTURER:
Master’s Degree/ (First Class) preferably in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution with no 3rd Division in the Academic career.
DIRECTOR PROCUREMENT:
Master’s degree in business administration preferably in Supply Chain Management and Finance from a recognized University with 12 years’ experience in procurement (local purchase & imports) in a government or semi government or autonomous or a reputed private organization. Should have good working knowledge of computer and excellent communication skills, and conversant with tax and customs regulations”
DEPUTY DIRECTOR (ADMISSIONS):
B.Sc (Engg.) or M.Sc. or M.A. in Social or Administrative Sciences from a recognized university with at least 5 years’ post qualification experience of admissions, examinations in an academic institution of repute. Must have knowledge of semester system exams credit hours system (grades, grade points average), examination schedule/date sheet and Learning Management System. Good communication and computer skills are essential.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (INCUBATION CENTER):
Master’s degree (at least 16 years’ education) from a reputed international or HEC recognized local institution in Engineering/Technology/Entrepreneurship/Business or other related field. The candidate should also have at least 2 years’ experience in tech startups, strong links with industry in the country and abroad, and venture capital and other sources of funding. Strong communication and management skills are essential.
STAFF OFFICER TO THE RECTOR:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Public Administration or Administrative /Social Sciences from a recognized university preferably with 2 years post qualification experience in a government, semi-government or autonomous or reputed private organization in the fields namely; transport, estate management, store, general administration and general coordination. Should have good working knowledge of computer and excellent communication skills.
LAB ENGINEER (FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING):
BS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Software Engineering (or closely related discipline) with specialization in Artificial Intelligence//Data Science, Parallel Programming with 1st Division from a recognized university. Candidates having experience of teaching and research will be given preference.
MATERIALS ENGINEER:
BE/BS in Materials Engineering with 1st Division from a recognized university. Candidates having experience of teaching and research will be given preference.
LAB. ENGINEER, ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING:
BE/BS degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from a recognized university. Candidates having hands on experience in the fields of Digital Design & Embedded Systems, Electrical Machines & Drives, Robotics & Autonomous Systems, and Power Systems or relevant areas.
SPORTS OFFICER:
B.Sc/M.Sc degree in Health & Physical Education with minimum three years’ experience in the relevant field in a reputed organization. Preference will be given to a qualified National Sportsman. Physical fitness as a sportsman is mandatory. Maximum age limit is 40 years.
LAB TECHNICIAN (FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING):
1st class DAE in Computer Science/Electronics from a Board of Technical Education with 3 years’ post diploma relevant experience in a scientific organization of repute or BS in IT/Computer Science /Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering or relevant degree with experience in Linux/Windows and virtual machines. PHARMACY ASSISTANT:
Pharmacy-D (Doctor of Pharmacy) from a recognized University having 3 years relevant experience in Government hospital or private hospital. Should have computer skills and working knowledge of MS Windows.
OFFICE ASSISTANT (ADMISSIONS):
Graduate from a recognized University. Candidate with experience of noting, drafting, filing, diary, dispatch and other routine work in a government or semi government or autonomous or reputed private organization will be given preference. Knowledge of word processing is essential.
NURSE GIK MEDICAL CENTRE:
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized Institute with 03 years’ relevant experience in operation theater/emergency care in a reputed Hospital/Medical Center.
LADY HEALTH VISITOR (LHV) GIK MEDICAL CENTRE:
Diploma in LHV with O2 years post qualification relevant experience.
FIREMAN:
FA/F.Sc with two years’ experience in any industrial / educational fire services. Fireman & Safety course from Civil Defense Institute is essential.
Applications are invited for the post of HAINA Instructor in the Institute. Requisite qualifications and experience are as follows:

Qualifications and Skills:
- Four years BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, IT, or relevant discipline from an HEC recognized university with CGPA 2.7 or above. MS degree will be preferred.
- Two years’ teaching experience in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
- Candidates holding Huawei (or similar) certifications, such as HCNA, HCNP, will be preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
- Induct students by inviting and shortlisting applications to complete a batch for training, collect fee challans, and offer an orientation session.
- Plan, organize, manage, communicate and evaluate all training operations.
- Taking care of the HAINA Classroom and Lab.
- Conduct/facilitate trainings as per the requirements of GIK Institute and Huawei.
- If necessary, conduct trainings on weekends or after 5:00 pm during weekdays.
- Keep record of all enrolled, trained and certified students and maintain GIK-HAINA’s portal at Huawei’s website.
- Motivate and help students to obtain certifications.
- Motivate and help students to participate in Huawei ICT skills competitions.
- Ensure excellent student support service.
- Conduct at least one training per semester, including the summer semester.
- Train other trainers.
- Actively organize and participate in marketing events before trainings.
- Trainings should also be offered to students from other universities and graduates.
- Be the GIK’s point of contact responsible for communication with, and attending meetings/seminars at, Huawei and HEC.
- Any other responsibility assigned by HAINA.
Contract Terms:
- The abovementioned workload of a HAINA Instructor will be in addition to the workload assigned to him/her by the faculty/department where the Instructor has been posted as a full-time employee.
- An Instructor must serve HAINA for at least one year from the date of selection and/or must complete at least three training sessions, failing which he/she will be liable to pay the costs that the GIK Institute may have borne for his/her training and certification.
- An Instructor must give a prior notice of three months to Director (HAINA) before leaving HAINA or GIK Institute.
Remunerations:
- 7500/- per trainee after successful completion of a training batch.
The GIK Institute, in collaboration with Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), has decided to establish an IT Training Center in Federal College for Women, F-7/4, (Margalla Campus), Islamabad under the Prime Ministers High Impact Technology Initiative for IT Courses for unemployed youth.
